About Ramsgate Tunnels
Who are we?
Ramsgate Tunnels are a volunteer led heritage attraction that opened to the public in June 2014 after being closed for more than 50 years. We have over 50 regular volunteers in our team, who play a significant part in the day to day running of the Tunnels volunteering in a variety of roles, alongside our four staff members.
The tunnel network includes Britain's largest purpose built Second World War Deep Tunnel Shelter, and a former mainline Victorian Railway Tunnel, designated a site of historical engineering of national significance.
Ramsgate Tunnels is the trading arm of Ramsgate (Heritage Regeneration) Trust, a registered charity who oversee the visitor experience and promote its preservation and heritage via daily tours and special events and exhibitions.
