Your tour will take place in the 82-year-old Deep Tunnel Shelters, with our experienced guides who will explain the origins, construction and use of the system, highlighting the significant role the shelters played in protecting the inhabitants of Ramsgate during the Second World War.
Due to the uneven and occasionally rough nature of the tunnel floor, sensible shoes should be worn for the ½ mile underground tour, with warm clothing strongly encouraged as the temperature remains at a constant 11ºc.
Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
We require at least 48 hours' notice for tickets to be cancelled, after this period, tickets are non-refundable. We recommend that you arrive at least 10 minutes before the tour departs, 30 minutes if you wish to visit the museum. Please be respectful to other visitors by arriving on time for the start of your tour.
Please note that tickets are non-transferable, if you miss your timed tour no refunds will be given.
There is a council pay and display car park adjacent to the tunnel entrance, we advise you to download the RingGo app before arrival, although there may be free parking available on the cliff top nearby, please allow 2 hours parking for your visit. There are no toilets available within the tunnels although public toilets are located a short distance from the tunnel entrance.
